Key information

The 2D roguelike Astral Ascent, originally released in 2023, has introduced a free collaboration with the RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Announced during the Triple-i Initiative, this update serves as a tribute to the title developed by Sandfall Interactive.

Hibernian Workshop stated that the primary challenge involved adapting the world of Expedition 33 into their own pixel art style while maintaining the essence of the original locations. The developers expressed pride in the resulting crossover, which they hope resonates with the community.

The update adds three new bosses, specifically Golgra, the Mime, and Pétank, alongside new rooms and various character summons. Players must complete the game at the base difficulty, Destiny Level 0, to access this new content.

Looking ahead, the studio confirmed that a Boss Rush mode is scheduled to arrive in the coming months. This mode will allow players to face the game's bosses consecutively with the ability to strengthen their characters between encounters.
