Key information
HORI is set to release an officially licensed electronic replica of the iconic instrument from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Priced at 49,99 euros, the accessory will be available on November 27, following the November 5 launch of the game on Nintendo Switch 2.
The device functions as an electronic toy rather than a traditional wind instrument. Users interact with it by pressing a button on the mouthpiece and buttons covering the holes. It offers a free-play mode and a pre-programmed mode featuring 12 melodies from the game, which can be played automatically at the touch of a button.
A key feature of the upcoming remake is the ability to influence gameplay by performing songs outside the console. The Nintendo Switch 2 will recognize melodies through its integrated microphone, allowing players to trigger in-game effects by playing the replica, humming, or using other instruments, provided Link has already learned the specific tune.
The replica measures 17,5 by 6 by 11,5 centimeters and weighs 145 grams without the three required AA batteries. It includes an audio output for headphones or external speakers and a display stand. Notably, the purchase does not include the game software or provide any inherent in-game advantages.
