Key information

The extraction shooter Arc Raiders has experienced a significant resurgence in player engagement following the release of its Frozen Trail update, which brings the title to version 2.0. This update is being viewed by many as a re-launch for the game.

SteamDB data indicates that concurrent player counts reached a peak of 185,443, a substantial increase compared to the typical daily peaks of under 40,000. This represents the highest concurrent count recorded since March.

The 2.0 update introduces extensive changes, including the Pendola Pass map, additional Arc enemy units, new weaponry, and a revamped skill tree. Furthermore, a new weapon meta has been implemented to balance the experience for both PvP and PvE players, alongside the introduction of a player home known as The Outpost.

Despite the high numbers, the developer Embark is currently testing a dedicated PvE mode from 13th to 20th October. However, the concurrent player figures may be inflated by a free trial that launched alongside the update, leaving uncertainty regarding long-term retention once the trial concludes.
