Key information
AMD has officially announced plans to integrate its machine-learning-based FSR 4 technology into various hardware platforms. Jack Huynh, the Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Computing and Graphics Group, confirmed that this rollout will encompass APUs, gaming laptops, and handheld devices.
The company intends to complete this deployment before the conclusion of 2026. This confirmation was provided by Huynh during a recent meeting held with members of the Korean media in Seoul.
Reports suggest that AMD is also preparing to launch a new generation of APUs within the current year that will feature support for FSR 4. Speculation indicates these could potentially be the Ryzen Z3 and Z3 Extreme processors.
While the technology is confirmed for handhelds, it remains unclear which specific devices will receive support. Community members have raised questions regarding whether existing hardware like the Steam Deck will be compatible or if the feature will be restricted to newer models like the Z2 or Z2 Extreme.
