Key information
Amazon MGM and Square Enix have officially concluded filming for the television series based on the original Life Is Strange game. Cinematographer Vincent De Paula confirmed the production milestone via Instagram, sharing a collage of behind-the-scenes imagery featuring the lead actors.
The adaptation is led by showrunner and executive producer Charlie Covell. Maisy Stella and Tatum Grace Hopkins are cast as the central characters, Max and Chloe. The production also features a supporting cast including Tom Cullen and Emily Carey, with Karyn Kusama directing the initial two episodes.
While filming has finished, Amazon has not yet disclosed a specific release window or the total number of episodes for the series. The production update coincides with the same week in October during which the events of the original game occur.
This development follows the release of Life Is Strange: Reunion, which received mixed critical reception. Some reviewers criticized the game for a tone resembling fan fiction, while others praised it as a fitting conclusion for the protagonists. Square Enix noted that sales for the title exceeded their internal expectations.
