Key information
Akio Otsuka, the Japanese voice actor for Solid, Naked, Solidus, and Venom Snake, has publicly asked Konami to develop another entry in the Metal Gear franchise. Previously, Otsuka stated he would not participate in future projects without creator Hideo Kojima, but he has now changed his stance in a recent interview published by the Japanese outlet Bunshun.
Otsuka admitted in the interview that his past reluctance stemmed from pride after working closely with Kojima. Recognizing that Kojima is now established with Kojima Productions and working on his own games like Death Stranding, the actor believes it is time to move forward for the sake of the patient fans worldwide.
While Otsuka previously maintained he would not voice Snake without Kojima's involvement, he is now ready to return to the iconic role even without the original creator. Otsuka maintains a connection with Kojima, having voiced Die-Hardman in Death Stranding, but he is now encouraging Konami to create one more Metal Gear title.
