Key information

The South Korean indie development team Meisomi has released a playable demo for their narrative-focused adventure game, Below Lethe, on Steam. The title draws inspiration from Greek mythology, specifically focusing on the underworld where the river Lethe washes away the memories of the deceased.

Players assume the role of Dikaion, an official tasked with prosecuting the dead. The core gameplay involves listening to testimonies and investigating fragmented memories found within the river. These reconstructed memories serve as evidence to be presented before three judges to determine the weight of a defendant's crimes.

The narrative challenges players as seemingly clear-cut cases become complicated by new revelations discovered just before sentencing. These twists force a re-evaluation of the defendant's guilt, as the game emphasizes that there may not be a single correct answer, leaving the final judgment to the player's discretion.

Below Lethe is currently in development for PC and supports the Japanese language. While the official release date remains unannounced, interested players can currently access the demo version on Steam to experience the game's mechanics firsthand.
