Key information
At the OSAKA INDIE GAMES SUMMIT 2026, a special touring edition of the talk show YoshP Radio featured Achabox, creator of the adventure title Schrödinger's Call for PC and Nintendo Switch. During the session, Achabox shared details regarding an unconventional career path, major setbacks during production, and preliminary ideas for an upcoming project.
Originally aiming for a career at Nintendo, Achabox attended Kyoto Seika University to study illustration. However, exposure to video production shifted focus toward freelance music video and corporate promotional work. Involvement with BitSummit later reignited a passion for game creation, leading to QA testing work at Q-Games and joining room6, where smartphone title Kotodama Nikki surpassed one million downloads.
Schrödinger's Call was later accepted into the Shueisha Games Creators CAMP program, forming a three-person core team. Despite a four-year development cycle involving critical production hurdles near the two-and-a-half-year mark, the completed game achieved an 89 score on Metacritic.
Currently operating independently without exclusive publisher restrictions, Achabox is brainstorming concepts for a subsequent title—exploring two contrasting directions including a frightening horror concept and a stylized pop project. The creator aims to release the next game within two to three years.
