Key information

Jagex is set to release RuneScape Reignited on December 2, introducing a permanent new character type featuring an isolated economy and separate hiscores. The developer is targeting this fresh start at fresh, returning, and veteran players alike, ensuring that Reignited characters cannot purchase progression.

While playing in identical worlds alongside established characters, Reignited profiles will operate with distinct restrictions. According to the official FAQ, these new characters cannot engage in trading with veteran accounts or share boss instances, maintaining a completely separate Grand Exchange.

Despite trading limitations, Reignited players retain the ability to trade among themselves and participate in clans and homesteads alongside veteran users. Additionally, Jagex will grant these characters ten days of complimentary members’ content upon launch.

The update arriving on December 2 also brings the Adventure Guide and a continuation of the game's remastering efforts. Jagex additionally revealed a separate RuneScape MMO developed in Unreal Engine following RuneFest 2026, though Reignited runs concurrently with current veteran characters.
