PlayStation Japan has officially unveiled a new Midnight Black PS5 Slim Digital console bundle. This package includes the all-black console unit paired with a matching Midnight Black DualSense controller.
To complement the console, the company also introduced a standalone Midnight Black disc drive. This accessory is designed to match the aesthetic of the new black hardware.
The bundle is currently exclusive to the Japanese market. Interested customers can begin placing pre-orders on October 10th, with the official product release scheduled for November 19th.
Looking toward the future, PlayStation confirmed that starting in January 2028, all new game releases will be restricted to digital downloads via the PlayStation Store and retailers. Physical discs for titles launched prior to this date will continue to be supported.
