Key information
A new, free VR mod for Titanfall 2 has emerged as a standout virtual reality experience. Developed by Jordan “CircuitLord” Juarez over a single month, the mod allows players to pilot Titans and engage in wall-running combat within a fully immersive environment. Despite its unofficial status, the project is being praised for its high quality and native-feeling mechanics.
The mod introduces significant gameplay changes, including custom hitboxes and manual reload animations. Juarez utilized the Northstar mod loader and AI-assisted reverse engineering to integrate VR-specific triggers. Players can now physically manipulate Titan arms and perform realistic weapon reloads, moving beyond simple controller-based interactions to create a more tactile experience.
Reviewer Sean Hollister notes that while the experience is largely comfortable, simulator sickness can occur during rapid Titan rotations. Other minor limitations include occasional visual glitches with weapon scopes and difficulties grabbing specific items. Juarez continues to patch the single-player campaign and is currently developing support for private multiplayer servers.
The mod is compatible with all three PC versions of Titanfall 2. Installation is streamlined, requiring SteamVR and an active EA app session. The game remains well-optimized, reportedly running on hardware as modest as an Nvidia GTX 1080 or an RTX 3060 laptop GPU.
