Key information

Independent developer soyukke announced Marukaite Dokan, a tower defense game supporting two to eight players in multiplayer. The title is currently in development for PC via Steam, though a release date remains unannounced.

The core gameplay involves players drawing shapes on a notebook stage to create weapons and defenses. Basic rules dictate that circles function as turrets, lines act as walls, and triangles serve as mines. Drawing larger circles increases turret range and power, while longer lines create more durable walls. Players must manage ink consumption, as drawing requires this limited resource.

Creative drawing techniques yield unique effects, such as drawing spirals to make enemies dizzy or rectangles to create beds that put enemies to sleep. Players can also select enhancement cards between waves to improve ink efficiency or restore base health. Defeating enemies allows players to potentially recruit them as temporary allies.

While the full Steam version is pending, a free playable demo is currently available on itch.io for web browsers. This project follows the developer's previous work, including the upcoming release of Trolley Problem is Not a Problem.
