Key information
At the OSAKA INDIE GAMES SUMMIT 2026 event held on October 3 and 4, 2026, at Congress Square Grand Front Osaka, a free indie game titled "A Cow at 1000 km/h" by developer samirin was featured.
The game's premise is based on a concept originating from Siemens' fluid analysis software "Simcenter FLOEFD" and engineering blog posts from 2015, which calculated that a 600kg Holstein cow would achieve a takeoff speed of approximately 1000 km/h if subjected to sufficient front-facing airflow.
In "A Cow at 1000 km/h," players use a Leap Motion hand-tracking device to accelerate a cow suspended from a milk-loving alien's UFO up to 1000 km/h to take it into space, while dodging debris such as cars and windmills.
The title is currently distributed as a free game on BOOTH. While physical takeoff at such speeds remains theoretically debated, the game allows players to successfully achieve the milestone.
