Key information
Unity’s XR workflow feature collects five recommendations from Meta developer advocate and Learn XR founder Dilmer Valecillos. The emphasis is on shortening the cycle between editing a project and inspecting a build on an actual headset.
His first recommendations concern Unity CLI and the Pipeline package, together with familiarity with frequently used commands. The article describes evaluating C# through Roslyn while the Editor is running, avoiding a full project recompilation for those evaluations. It also recommends following CLI changes rather than assuming commands remain fixed.
Another recommendation is to combine coding tools according to the task, including using a different assistant for review. For Quest work, the article adds Meta VR CLI as a source of current platform documentation and a connection to the device for deployment, logs and headset screenshots.
The final focus is profiling on hardware: capture a performance trace and use an assistant to inspect frame spikes and CPU or GPU pressure. Project setup checks and Meta’s asset library support that workflow, but the central point is to validate the headset build instead of relying only on the Editor view.
