Key information
At Brasil Game Show 2026, Studio Sazanka showcased AFANTASIA, an exploration adventure game developed by Brazilian creator Leon Stevans. The title, which is the first project under Studio Sazanka's new publishing division, follows a boy who wakes up with no memory but a singular urge to reach a city. Guided by a voice called Intrusion, he explores the town of Tempo to recover his past.
Gameplay involves navigating the environment using WASD keys and clicking on objects to investigate clues. A core mechanic allows the protagonist to enter the memories of other characters, experiencing their regrets firsthand. Stevans notes that players will occasionally control different entities, such as a dog or a local child, with gameplay styles shifting significantly during these sequences.
The game features a 2.5D visual style, placing 2D sprites within 3D environments. Stevans describes the aesthetic as surrealist and dreamcore-inspired, utilizing a maximalist approach with diverse color palettes and varied artistic presentations for text and scenery. The developer, who began this project four years ago, handles all art, music, and programming himself to maintain the personal nature of the narrative.
AFANTASIA is slated for release on PC via Steam with Japanese language support. While an official launch date remains unconfirmed, Stevans anticipates a 2027 release. The game will be available for public demo at the DREAMSCAPE#5 event in Tokyo on October 24.
