Key information

Publisher META Publishing announced that the open-world survival adventure Blind Descent will launch in early access on December 2. Due to time zone differences, the release date in Japan is December 3. The game is developed by the Turkish indie studio Pokuch and supports up to four-player cooperative play.

Players take on the role of Marsborn Mining Company explorers investigating a missing team within the subterranean caverns of Mars. The gameplay involves scanning alien life, gathering resources, and crafting equipment to survive against hostile creatures using bows and melee weapons.

A core mechanic is the choice between two paths: science or symbiosis. Players can maintain their humanity through technological upgrades or undergo mutations to adapt to the alien ecosystem, potentially gaining psychic-like abilities. This choice influences both combat strategies and the character's biological development.

The early access version will feature core mechanics and a portion of the story. Pokuch expects the early access period to last approximately one year, with regular updates leading to a full release that includes all scenarios and additional content. While the PC version launches in December, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions are planned for the full release.
