Publisher Team17 has officially unveiled Little Prince Tyger, a dark fantasy action title currently in development by the French studio Saltitude Games. The project is scheduled for a global release in 2027.
The game features a 2D side-scrolling perspective with low-resolution visuals. Players assume the role of a small hunter tasked by a queen to locate her missing son, Prince Galaad. Inspired by William Blake’s poem The Tyger, the journey involves battling bizarre beasts across more than 1,000 handcrafted single-screen levels.
Combat centers on a bow-and-arrow mechanic, though players can unlock diverse equipment such as boomerangs, javelins, traps, and throwing knives. Each run offers randomized ability modifiers that alter character stats, including movement speed, bleed damage, and arrow weight. Players can also manipulate time or control liquids to adapt their combat style.
The narrative unfolds through recovered memories and interactions with various NPCs. Notable characters include the brave warrior Sauterelle, the mysterious gardener Machiavelli, and the benevolent ruler known as Dagaubert, all struggling to survive within this brutal, dark world.
