Key information
Sega and Two Point Studios have released a free preview of the Rides and Relics DLC for Two Point Museum, allowing base game owners to experience the initial campaign stage ahead of the full launch on Oct. 8. The expansion introduces ride mechanics that leverage nostalgia while requiring strategic management of queue lengths and placement to ensure profitability.
Gameplay involves balancing guest thrill levels to extend their stay without causing excessive nausea, a nod to classic park management titles. Players can mitigate the risk of guests vomiting by mixing rides with traditional exhibits or installing specific perks. The developer has refined the expedition system, allowing players to upgrade ride blueprints and gain tangible improvements without the repetitive frustrations found in the base game.
Mascots have been overhauled to provide strategic value, with specific theme types helping to manage visitor emotions and keep guests happy while waiting. Players can set mascot routes similarly to tour paths, with rewards including new expedition locations that encourage blending different exhibit types for special bonuses. Additionally, the expansion features an involved roller coaster building system that offers significant control over track design.
The full expansion is scheduled for release on Oct. 8 for PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X. A version for the Switch 2 is planned for a later date.
