Hamster Corporation has announced the release of Arcade Archives 2 Stinger, a new entry in its classic gaming series. The title is scheduled to launch on October 15, 2026, for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC via XBOX Play Anywhere.
Originally released by Seibu Kaihatsu in 1983, Stinger is a side-scrolling shooter where players pilot the Stinger Wolf fighter. The objective is to penetrate the heart of an enemy base filled with hostile lifeforms. Players utilize lasers to defeat foes and can summon a robot ally named Bongo for automated support during emergencies.
The new release introduces several quality-of-life features, including a redesigned user interface, customizable button configurations, rapid-fire settings, and a rewind function. Additionally, the game supports VRR for more accurate arcade behavior and includes multiple save slots for the original mode.
Beyond the original mode, players can compete globally via online leaderboards in High Score, Caravan, and the newly added Time Attack modes. The game is priced at 1100 yen, with a 330 yen discount available for owners of the previous Arcade Archives Stinger on Nintendo Switch or PlayStation 4.
