Teyon Japan announced that the physical packaged version of Thomas & Friends: Sodor's Oddities Deluxe Edition will be released on December 17, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. Pre-orders across retail stores and e-commerce sites begin today following the announcement made on October 5, 2026.
Players take on the role of a train driver to explore Sodor. The title features a story mode, a puzzle mode for freight car switching, a timetable mode for schedule-based operations, and an exploration mode that allows free roaming around the island.
While controls remain simple, the game faithfully simulates distinct driver's consoles, whistles, acceleration sounds, camera shaking, and rain physics where braking efficiency decreases. Players can drive characters such as Thomas, Gordon, Percy, and Emily.
Priced at 6600 yen including tax, the deluxe package bundles the James Add-On DLC featuring James, expanding the narrative to a total of 12 episodes, which is four more than the standard version. It also includes special stickers and a reversible jacket.
