Uniana has announced that the physical version of the 2D action game Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, titled Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse Midnight Edition, will launch on October 15. The title will be available for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch.
Set in 1499 Paris, 23 years after Castlevania 3: Dracula’s Curse, the story follows Rose Belmont. Armed with the Vampire Killer whip, she investigates a monster invasion and uncovers dark conspiracies. The gameplay evolves the series' signature whip mechanics, offering increased speed and freedom. Players face classic bosses like Death and Medusa, alongside new foes such as Joan of Arc. Defeating bosses unlocks the Arcana System, granting spells and special actions via tarot cards.
Combat depth is further enhanced through equipment customization. Players can utilize seven weapon categories and various magical tools to tailor Rose’s combat style. Uniana notes that the title blends classic sensibilities with modern exploration and action, aiming to satisfy both long-time series fans and newcomers to the genre.
The Midnight Edition includes the base game, a digital soundtrack, and an art gallery. Physical copies come with three in-game items: Trevor and Sypha style costumes, and a family portrait magical tool. Early purchasers receive a voucher for an Alucard style costume, available while supplies last. The edition can be purchased through various online retailers, including Soprano.
