Key information
XL Games has announced that ArcheAge Chronicles will follow a buy-to-play package model. General Producer Ham Yong-jin confirmed that the game will not feature items that allow players to increase combat power or gain growth advantages through additional payments.
The title is an open-world action MMORPG focusing on exploration and cooperation rather than competition. Players can engage in activities like crafting, trading, and life skills, while also interacting with others to exchange help within the game world.
Combat mechanics emphasize tactical decision-making, requiring players to dodge, parry, and time attacks based on enemy movements. The game features four classes, each capable of using different weapons that alter combat styles.
During early access, no paid shop will be operated to prioritize service stability. Future shop additions will exclude pay-to-win items, and the team plans to share development updates via upcoming videos following the Steam Next Fest demo.
