Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse arrives as a significant entry that achieves a brilliant synthesis of series elements. While it avoids the dramatic genre shift seen in Symphony of the Night nearly 30 years ago, the title functions as a cohesive, high-performing package that represents a new pinnacle for the franchise.

Castlevania: Belmont's Curse presents an uneven experience characterized by a frustrating, aggressive early game and a comically easy late game. While the title features stunning artwork, beautiful music, and compelling voice acting, the reviewer notes that the gameplay feels "wrong" and undertuned compared to its predecessors.
