Developer Bulkhead has announced that Wardogs will introduce a rain system as part of its second season of content. The update is scheduled to launch on October 15.

The rain will not function as a dynamic weather system. Instead, matches featuring this effect will experience constant rainfall for their entire duration. Senior producer Kane Allard noted that this addition will significantly alter gameplay, potentially creating a divisive experience for the player base.

The environmental changes are substantial, featuring reduced visibility and darker maps. Thunder can be utilized to mask gunfire, while raindrops produce distinct audio cues upon hitting surfaces like helmets or rooftops. Furthermore, windows will fog up, and the game's destruction system ensures that players become exposed to the elements if their shelter's roof is destroyed.

While Bulkhead is not ruling out future weather additions like snow or nighttime scenarios, the team must evaluate the impact on performance and gameplay mechanics. CEO Joe Brammer indicated that implementing features such as flashlights or night vision goggles would require significant development time.
