Ubisoft has announced a restructuring plan that includes the proposed closure of its Finnish studio RedLynx and significant workforce reductions at its Singapore location. These measures are part of a broader corporate strategy to decrease expenditures and transition into a new Creative Houses organizational model.
The potential shuttering of RedLynx, which previously developed the Trials franchise, could impact up to 52 positions. According to the company, the studio currently lacks sustainable standalone projects and is not assigned to any active development work.
At the Singapore studio, 70 roles are being eliminated to better align with future production requirements. This reduction accounts for approximately one-fifth of the total staff at the facility, which is known for leading the development of the pirate title Skull and Bones.
These actions follow a series of recent closures in locations including Stockholm, Halifax, and Belgrade. Ubisoft continues to reorganize its global operations into six distinct Creative Houses as part of a cost-reduction program that entered its final phase this year.
