Sony Interactive Entertainment has rolled out a fresh system software update for the PlayStation 5, designated as version 26.06-14.10.00. The distribution of this firmware update officially began on October 2.
The newly deployed system software package brings critical security patches alongside general improvements to overall system operational stability.
Along with the firmware release, a novel artificial intelligence upscaling technology titled Quick Spectral Super Resolution has been introduced. Known as QSSR, this feature aims to elevate both visual clarity and operational stability.
The QSSR technology becomes available starting today for select titles, specifically supporting Marvel's Wolverine and Ghost of Yotei where players can select it.
Sony indicated that update files will reach users progressively, while offering manual update procedures for players wishing to install the software immediately.
