Japanese creative creator and Google software engineer Ken Kawamoto has released an open-source parodic Android game on GitHub called Power Struggle. The title allows players to stake their mobile phone battery in a player-versus-player showdown.
The gameplay involves two users connecting their devices via a USB-C cable after installing the app. Participants must rapidly tap their screens within a set time limit, with the higher tap count determining the winner who becomes the charging recipient, while the loser acts as the power-supplying party.
Despite its competitive premise, the developer noted that the game functions as a gag project with extremely low charging efficiency. Real-world testing showed an output of 1,500 mA at 5V, resulting in about 7.5W of power, but 1,100 mA is wasted running the game. This leaves a net charge of only 400 mA, or roughly 2W, which is insufficient to maintain a phone's minimum charge level.
