The original Nidhogg title has received a significant online update on Steam. This patch introduces rollback netcode, which is intended to make online matches feel more responsive for players.

The update includes a reworked online menu system. Players can now accept game invites directly without needing to open the Steam overlay. Furthermore, the matchmaking system has been adjusted to prioritize opponents with the best ping, and a new time limit for accepting matches prevents players from joining lobbies with AFK hosts.

Solo players gain access to a new Training mode, allowing them to practice against the CPU on any map without the need to complete Arcade mode. Additionally, a CPU BATTLE feature has been added, enabling users to observe two computer-controlled fighters competing against one another.

Beyond these core changes, the developers have implemented button glyphs for both controllers and keyboards. The update also incorporates various general fixes and improvements to the overall experience.
