Ubisoft has officially announced that the free-to-play tactical first-person shooter Rainbow Six Mobile is scheduled to end its service on January 15, 2027. Despite this upcoming closure, the development team confirmed that the game's next season will still launch as originally planned next week.

Developed by Ubisoft Montreal, the title aimed to bring the core Rainbow Six Siege experience to mobile devices. The gameplay featured 5v5 player-versus-player matches where attackers utilized reconnaissance drones to breach destructible environments, while defenders employed traps, spy cameras, and barricades to fortify their positions.

Reflecting on the project, the developers expressed pride in the community that formed since the soft launch in 2023. Over the course of 15 seasons, players contributed through tactical guides, community tournaments, and shared gameplay highlights, which the team cited as a significant part of the game's journey.

The decision to terminate the game was described as difficult, with Ubisoft noting that the development team will now shift their focus toward other long-term strategic projects. Further details regarding the transition period and subsequent arrangements for the player base are expected to be shared in the coming weeks.
