Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition launched for PS5 on October 1, 2026, introducing the Echoes of Sekigahara story expansion and the Most Wanted combat survival mode. These additions, released via patch 2.0 on October 2, offer players new narrative depth and repeatable gameplay challenges.
The Echoes of Sekigahara expansion explores protagonist Atsu’s past and her relationship with Nagato, set against the historical backdrop of the Battle of Sekigahara. Art director Joanna Wang explains that the team aimed to reveal Atsu’s vulnerable side and human experiences before her journey of vengeance, ensuring the narrative remains consistent with her established character while deepening player understanding.
Lead system designer Parker Hamilton notes that the Most Wanted mode focuses on pure combat, utilizing roguelike mechanics where players select sword skills to create varied, repeatable experiences. This mode allows for powerful ability combinations, distinct from the constraints of the main campaign. Additionally, Jin Sakai from Ghost of Tsushima returns as a playable character, featuring updated character models rendered with advanced PS5 technology, though without new face scans.
