Solo developer iruca3 has launched the story mode beta for the free online Japanese mahjong learning game titled Furmah. The title is entirely free to play directly through web browsers on computers, smartphones, and tablets without requiring any installation.
The newly released story mode is tailored for players with zero prior mahjong experience. It blends character interactions, quizzes, and hands-on practice, allowing novices to advance at their own pace starting from simplified winning hands.
In addition to the learning features, Furmah includes four-player Japanese mahjong based on competitive rules and three-player mahjong utilizing Kansai-region parlor rules. Participants can engage in league and rank matches, explore special rules, and watch matches through a broadcast-style spectator interface.
The game features proprietary AI models built for both the competitive four-player and Kansai three-player modes. Players can compete against these AIs, review evaluation values in match replays, and benefit from customisation options that even allow uploading VRM avatar models to the table.
