The television series Lanterns recently concluded, leaving viewers with numerous questions, most notably regarding the absence of John Stewart wearing the Green Lantern suit.
Showrunner Chris Mundy revealed in an interview that the team had already designed the suit alongside those for Hal and Kyle. Mundy stated that if the season had lasted for one additional episode, audiences would have seen the character wearing it.
However, the creators chose to omit the suit to maintain emotional focus on the farewell scene between Hal and John. Mundy explained that reaching the point of wearing the suit would have distracted from that emotional moment between the two characters.
Additionally, the director noted that the creative team never intended to finish with battle-heavy sequences or excessive special effects, preferring a calmer, more grounded approach centered on the human side of the protagonists.
