The 30th anniversary project for CLAMP's Magic Knight Rayearth officially premiered on October 7. The first episode features the original theme song, Yuzurenai Negai by Naomi Tamura, as an insert track, evoking nostalgia among long-time fans.
The story follows three girls—Hikaru Shidou, Umi Ryuuzaki, and Fuu Hououji—who are summoned to the world of Cephiro while visiting Tokyo Tower. They arrive to find Princess Emeraude, the guardian of the world's peace, imprisoned, leaving the realm in peril.
The narrative centers on whether these three protagonists can successfully become the legendary Magic Knights to rescue the princess and restore order to the crumbling world of Cephiro.
Naomi Tamura expressed honor in having her 1994 track featured in the new Reiwa-era production. Additionally, the song has been released digitally for the first time, thirty years after its initial debut. The series currently airs on the TV Asahi network.
