Avalon Hill has officially unveiled Tideward, a tabletop adventure designed by Connie Vogelmann. In this game, participants assume the roles of baby sea turtles attempting to reach the ocean safely.
The gameplay is designed for individuals aged 10 and older and offers four distinct ways to play based on the chosen Algal Mat. During each turn, players perform three actions, which include hatching eggs, collecting food, or moving hatchlings toward the algae.
Victory is determined by the highest score once a player successfully guides all their hatchlings to the water. Final points are calculated based on the arrangement of turtles on the Algal Mat and the objectives listed on individual Tide Quest cards.
Tideward is scheduled for a release in January 2027. Attendees at the Essen event will have the opportunity to demo the title onsite before its wider launch.
