UPLAY Online and the media outlet La Media Inglesa have announced a collaborative project titled International Football Manager. The game, which is currently listed on Steam, aims to combine UPLAY's experience in sports simulation with the storytelling capabilities of the La Media Inglesa team.
The title distinguishes itself from traditional management simulations by focusing on emergent, humorous narratives. According to Jaume Noguera of UPLAY Online, players will face unconventional scenarios, such as a footballer getting stranded on an island or romantic conflicts between teammates, requiring users to make decisions with lasting consequences.
The gameplay design prioritizes accessibility over complex, time-consuming mechanics. Features include a shouting system that allows managers to encourage players, demand more effort, or argue with referees, potentially resulting in sanctions. The developers aim to provide a deep experience that remains manageable without requiring mastery of advanced football concepts.
International Football Manager is currently in internal testing, with broader user testing planned for the coming weeks. While the Steam page lists a 2026 release window, a definitive date has not yet been established.
