On October 10, 2026, publisher HypeTrain Digital released Paperhead, a new title developed by Paperhead te4m. The game is currently available for PC at 2300 yen and on Xbox Series X|S for 2350 yen, including tax. While a store page for the PlayStation 5 version exists, it has not yet been released for that platform.
Paperhead is a first-person shooter that blends fast-paced boomer shooter gameplay with horror adventure elements. Players explore a derelict research facility to uncover dark truths hidden within its walls.
Set in a cute world crafted from cardboard, the game features unique mechanics where players use a magical pencil to alter their environment. This tool allows users to create bombs to blast enemies away or draw doors on walls to forge new paths. Combat involves throwing enemies into the air or crushing them from above.
Despite the charming aesthetic, the game includes intense violence, such as enemies spraying blood or scattering into pieces when defeated. The developer suggests there is a specific reason why these cardboard entities bleed, encouraging players to thoroughly explore the facility to reveal the underlying secrets.
