The development group CSEP has released a substantial mod for Fallout 4 titled Detour, which introduces a completely new city to the open-world game. This project aims to provide players with additional hours of gameplay through fresh content and an original adventure.
Beyond the new urban environment, the mod incorporates various gameplay elements including extra missions, new merchants, and a player home. It also features a patch for the game's Reputation system to enhance the overall experience.
A notable technical achievement is the inclusion of over 600 lines of dialogue performed by more than a dozen professional voice actors. Project lead Pigness emphasizes that no generative artificial intelligence was utilized in the creation of these character performances.
To access the new content, players must download the mod from Nexus Mods and travel to the Bedford Station. Once there, interacting with a guard near the elevator will initiate the new questline and allow entry into the expanded area.
