A team of experienced modders has released a new settlement called Detour for Fallout 4. Located on a ruined freeway near Bedford Station, this location serves as a new quest hub situated conveniently close to the starting area of Sanctuary.

The town features over a dozen voiced NPCs with more than 600 lines of dialogue. Players can interact with various residents, including a ghoul sheriff and a mayor, to accept quests or utilize services like renting rooms and shopping. A player-owned house is also available for purchase.

Primary creator Pig intends for Detour to function as a growing platform for future content. This project is part of the Commonwealth Story Expansion Project, a series known for previous mods involving themes like cults, detective work, and Brotherhood of Steel narratives.

To access the mod, players must own the Nuka World DLC. Additionally, an optional patch is available to integrate the mod with the Reputation system, providing faction dynamics similar to Fallout: New Vegas.
