Yuji Horii, the renowned creator of the Dragon Quest series, recently announced the development of a new title created entirely using artificial intelligence. Horii stated that the project was completed in approximately 30 minutes.

The game is a text-based police interrogation simulation shared via X. Players must question a 72-year-old suspect named Komiya regarding a pawnshop break-in. The objective involves extracting statements before a lawyer arrives at 11pm and identifying lies using evidence. Mechanics include managing the suspect's agitation levels, though reaching 100 resistance causes the suspect to remain silent.

Horii noted that AI tools now allow individuals to produce decent games independently, even without traditional drawing or programming skills. He drew parallels to his 1983 work on The Portopia Serial Murder Case, where he handled the story, art, and programming solo.

This project follows Horii's previous AI experiments, including the integration of a Gemini-powered chatbot into Dragon Quest X. While he continues work on Dragon Quest 12 and a new Portopia title, he maintains that such tools lower the barrier for users to engage with AI technology.
