Game director Kotaro Uchikoshi, known for the Zero Escape and AI: The Somnium Files series, officially announced the establishment of his new company, CRASH KEYS, on October 15. The studio, based in Shibuya, Tokyo, was founded in March 2025.
CRASH KEYS aims to leverage Uchikoshi's experience to create original projects that challenge existing frameworks. The company's motto, "There are doors that can only be opened with a broken key," reflects a commitment to unconventional ideas and emotional storytelling.
Despite the new venture, Uchikoshi revealed on X that a game he had been developing for approximately one and a half years was suddenly cancelled. This unexpected development left him seeking new work opportunities and financial backing.
