Bandai Namco Entertainment showcased a new gameplay trailer for the fighting game Tekken 8 at the EVO France 2026 tournament held on October 11. The presentation highlighted the return of the kangaroo duo Roger Jr. and provided a brief initial look at the upcoming guest character Yujiro Hanma.
Roger Jr. returns to the playable roster after approximately 14 years, having last appeared in 2012's Tekken Tag Tournament 2. The character utilizes a close-quarters combat style, relying on powerful throws and high mobility. New mechanics include the Astronaut stance, which leverages the kangaroo's jumping ability, and the Rocket stance, designed to pressure opponents with diverse attack options.
The character's Rage Art features a dramatic animation where the opponent is launched into space and impacts the moon, causing it to shatter. According to the development team, this exaggerated sequence was inspired by the character's previous endings in Tekken 5 and Tekken 6, which depicted opponents being launched into ceilings.
The trailer concluded with a teaser for Yujiro Hanma, the fourth addition to Season 3. The 3D model captures the character's muscular physique and intense facial features from the Grappler Baki series. While the footage shows the character in a signature pose, Bandai Namco has not yet detailed his specific combat systems or move set.
