UK-based Blaze Entertainment announced via its official website that the release of the "C64 Handheld" and "Spectrum Handheld" has been postponed from October 15, 2026, to April 22, 2027.
The company stated that the delay is due to certain structural aspects of the products not meeting required standards. While considering a 2026 release after addressing some issues, Blaze Entertainment ultimately decided on the postponement to deliver the best possible experience.
Meanwhile, the "EVERCADE NEXUS" handheld console, scheduled for release on October 30, 2026, remains unaffected and will launch as planned.
The C64 Handheld and Spectrum Handheld are part of the new "Home Computer Handheld" series under Blaze Entertainment's HyperMegaTech brand. Based on the concept of portable 1980s home computers, they reimagine the 1982 machines Commodore 64 and ZX Spectrum into foldable handheld devices, priced at 129.99 dollars each.
