PLAION has officially opened pre-orders for Metro 2039, which is scheduled for release on February 4, 2027. The title will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Xbox on PC. Players in Asia, Australia, and New Zealand should note a localized release date of February 5.
The game introduces a new blueprint mechanic designed to encourage exploration. By utilizing blueprints, players can craft upgrades and accessories for their equipment. Those who pre-order will receive the Metro 2039 Specialist Pack, which grants early access to three unique backpack upgrades: the Equipment Specialist Pouch for crafting, the Chemtech Specialist Pouch for radiation survival, and the Munitions Specialist Pouch for rare ammunition usage.
Three versions are available for purchase: Standard, Deluxe, and Collector's editions. The Deluxe edition includes a future story expansion DLC, with digital versions featuring a soundtrack and art book, while physical Deluxe copies offer a steelbook and a hardcover art book. The Collector's edition encompasses the physical Deluxe content alongside a wearable replica of the Spartan helmet.
Physical editions for PC are provided as boxed codes, while console versions are available on disc. Development of the project is currently underway in Ukraine and Malta, with 4A Games maintaining support for its Ukrainian team members amidst the ongoing Russian invasion.
