Japanese Ramen Simulator, a cooperative restaurant management game, officially launched in Steam Early Access on the 9th. The title allows up to 6 players to collaborate on running a ramen shop, dividing tasks ranging from ingredient preparation and cooking to customer service and store maintenance.
The gameplay emphasizes detailed cooking mechanics, requiring players to manage broth temperature, noodle boiling times, and ingredient combinations. A physics-based topping system ensures unique results for every dish. Beyond ramen, players can prepare side dishes like dumplings, rice bowls, and beer, each necessitating specific culinary techniques.
Players can switch between first-person and third-person perspectives to balance immersion with environmental awareness. The experience includes unpredictable challenges such as demanding food critics, thieves, and fires, which must be addressed using tools like fire extinguishers or shuriken. Additionally, the game features proximity-based voice chat for multiplayer sessions.
Customization is a core component, allowing users to arrange furniture and cooking equipment to optimize store flow. The My Design system enables players to apply custom artwork to store decorations. While designed for cooperative play, those operating solo can hire NPC staff to assist with daily operations.
