On the 14th, Overwatch released a hotfix update targeting the healers Sombra and Doctrine. Both characters were previously criticized by players for possessing overwhelming performance capabilities that dominated the game environment shortly after their release.
Statistical data highlighted the dominance of these heroes. Doctrine achieved a 53.2% pick rate, a 57.7% win rate, and an 11.3% ban rate within one week. Sombra recorded a 24.2% pick rate and a 56.9% win rate, with a significant 50.6% ban rate, indicating that players found her particularly difficult to face.
The hotfix introduced substantial nerfs to both heroes. Doctrine's 'Eternal Staff' damage and healing were reduced from 60 to 55, and the 'Vitality Drone' duration dropped from 6 seconds to 5 seconds. Sombra's machine pistol damage decreased from 7 to 6.5 per shot, while the 'Cyberspace' skill explosion damage was halved to 20, with its cooldown increased to 13 seconds.
The update also included buffs for Roadhog, increasing his scrap gun damage and enhancing his 'Take a Breather' skill. Additionally, Kiriko received a health increase to 250, while D.Mon saw her armor health reduced to 250. Despite these adjustments, it remains uncertain if the nerfs will fully end the dominance of Sombra and Doctrine.
