One More Level, the studio behind Ghostrunner, has released a new gameplay video for their upcoming first-person soulslike, Valor Mortis. The title is scheduled for release on October 13 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. The footage highlights the console versions, showcasing the game's mechanics, including exploration, supernatural abilities, and a combat system centered on parries and counterattacks.
On PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, players can choose between two graphics modes. The Quality mode targets 30 FPS at dynamic 4K resolution, while the Performance mode aims for 60 FPS at dynamic 4K. The developers noted that the shared gameplay video was exported at 1080p due to recording equipment limitations, meaning the final in-game visual clarity will be higher.
The studio confirmed additional technical details for other platforms. The Xbox Series S will feature a 60 FPS Performance mode, though its resolution remains unconfirmed. Furthermore, the PlayStation 5 Pro version is set to receive visual enhancements and higher resolution, although specific technical characteristics for that hardware have not yet been detailed.
Valor Mortis will be available on October 13 and will be included in the Xbox Game Pass library. The game follows William Dowsett, a soldier resurrected in an alternate Europe plagued by a mysterious disease. It is priced at 40 euros to remain competitive during a busy autumn release window.
