Ubisoft has officially announced plans to close its Finnish studio RedLynx, the developer behind the Trials series. Additionally, the company is implementing significant layoffs at its Singapore branch, which is currently working on Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced.

The proposed closure of RedLynx is subject to local change negotiations and could impact up to 52 positions. Meanwhile, Ubisoft Singapore is cutting 70 roles to align the studio with future production requirements, though the company maintains that the location remains a vital part of its global operations.

While Ubisoft did not provide specific reasons for the RedLynx closure, the studio has primarily served in a support capacity since the 2019 release of Trials Rising. The company stated it is committed to supporting affected employees throughout this transition with care and respect.

Regarding the affected projects, Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced has seen commercial success, reaching over 3.5 million sales within two weeks. Despite this performance, the title received a three out of five star rating in a review by Dom, and reports suggest a version for the Switch 2 is currently in development.
