Rockstar Games has confirmed that GTA 6 is scheduled for release on November 19. The title was initially slated for a 2025 launch, but the development team encountered setbacks that necessitated two separate delays, pushing the project into 2026.
Head of publishing Jennifer Kolbe reported that Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick initially reacted with disbelief to the news of the second delay. However, Zelnick eventually accepted the decision, noting that postponing a launch is a prudent investment when it allows a title to achieve a higher level of perfection.
Development head Phil Hooker indicated that the project lacks an exact blueprint and remains subject to change, with modifications occurring as recently as the last few months. While further delays are not currently expected, the team maintains that the game is never completely settled.
The game will launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Physical copies, which contain a code rather than a disc, will be available at retailers starting November 12, though the software will not unlock until November 19.
