The cooperative action roguelite Shape of Dreams has been released for Xbox Series X|S, arriving on Xbox Game Pass on its launch day. The Xbox version launches simultaneously with the game's one-year anniversary update titled The Starless Path, which introduces a new traveler, a new final boss, and a new ending.
Combat in the game features fast-paced, stylish hack-and-slash action where players utilize Memories as skills and Essences to modify or combine them. With over 200 Memories and Essences available, players can customize their playstyle across nine different travelers, such as Lacerta using firearms, Coda wielding blades, and Nakia commanding summoned companions.
Online cooperative play supports up to four travelers sharing the same dream, with enemies becoming faster and attacks more powerful. The game supports cross-platform play from launch, allowing Xbox players to join friends on other platforms, while all Xbox players can acquire a console-exclusive bonus costume.
The Starless Path update includes the new ranged traveler Ketus, who manipulates cold to control the battlefield, alongside the Way of Stars progression system and six shared identity memories. Additionally, the update adds a Purgatory endgame difficulty exceeding Nightmares, comprehensive balance adjustments, and overall performance improvements stemming from optimizations since the Steam release.
