Developer Himeko released the horror visual novel Kyofu Yawa: Second Night on Steam on October 14, 2026. Set in the 1990s, the game casts players as an occult magazine writer who visits a vintage coffee shop to listen to three distinct ghost stories.
The game features three tales involving a house with mysterious sounds under the floorboards, an encounter at an old school during a rainstorm, and a discovery at an abandoned hotel. Players choose the order in which they hear these stories, which are presented through text, environmental sounds, and silence to build tension, drawing inspiration from Super Famicom and PlayStation-era titles.
The narrative continues after the three stories conclude, with player choices leading to one of four endings: one true, one normal, and two bad. While the story is independent, returning players may find new meaning in elements from the previous entry. The developer estimates a total playtime of approximately 2 to 2.5 hours.
Kyofu Yawa: Second Night is available on Steam for 500 yen. A 20% discount is currently active for 14 days, reducing the price to 400 yen. A bundle containing both games in the series is also available at a 10% discount for those who do not own either title.
